Formzoo Design’s approach, experience and design aesthetic resulted in a successful tender for this project with Brisbane City Council (BCC). BCC’s vision was to create a new suite of street furniture with a uniform aesthetic, which would integrate well with the existing streetscape.
We were engaged to develop the conceptual design of the new range of furniture consisting of 11 separate items. Formzoo worked collaboratively with the BCC urban design department to ensure that all designs met the requirements of the user needs specification and appealed to all stakeholders.
All products in the range were engineered to meet all applicable standards including the Australian Safety Standards. Technical aspects included materials, surface finishes, corrosion protection, fabrication and assembly methods and creating desired aesthetics while keeping cost of manufacture minimised.
A range of suppliers were sourced and engaged to manufacture the furniture range to BCC’s engineering standard. Formzoo managed the initial manufacturing process to ensure a timely and successful outcome for BCC. Manufacturing is now ongoing directly between BCC and the manufacturers.
