The Good Design Awards have been running for 60 years and the Anniversary celebration is shaping up to be quite a night.
The Awards Ceremony has several guest presenters including Danish Architect Jan Utzon (the son of Jørn Utzon, the designer of the Sydney Opera House) who will be presenting the 2018 Good Design Award of the Year to the winners. Dilki De Silva (Secretary-General of the World Design Organization) and Mr. Michael Bryce AM (Patron Emeritus of the Good Design Awards) will be sharing a special address during the ceremony. These three designers have had a strong history of design work around the globe, and we can expect to see some exciting insights.
This year has seen a record number of entries for the Good Design awards, with 530 individual projects from all over Australia being entered for consideration. This year’s entries range between a world-first solar powered train, a multi-directional elevator and an eco-coffee cup made from wasted coffee bean husk. Guests will enjoy stunning views of Sydney harbour, bottomless drinks and food in the beautiful Sydney Opera House.
